This article discusses modern approaches to employee performance management and their role in improving organizational effectiveness. Particular attention is given to Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), High Performance Work Systems (HPWS), Competency-Based Management (CBM), Talent Management, and Lean Management. The paper considers how these approaches influence employee assessment, motivation, professional development, and the alignment of individual performance with organizational goals. It also examines the growing role of key performance indicators (KPIs), HR metrics, and digital monitoring in contemporary management practice. The analysis suggests that these concepts are most useful when applied in combination rather than as separate management tools.
