Abstract

Astronomical terminology plays a significant role in science education and foreign language learning because it integrates linguistic competence with scientific knowledge. As astronomy continues to develop through space exploration and technological innovation, learners increasingly encounter specialized vocabulary in academic texts, digital resources, and international communication. Therefore, effective methods of teaching astronomical terminology are essential for improving learners’ vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, and communicative competence. This article discusses several pedagogical approaches to teaching astronomical terms, including contextual learning, visual instruction, comparative linguistic analysis, technology-enhanced learning, and project-based activities. These methods help students understand not only the meanings of astronomical terms but also their linguistic, cultural, and scientific backgrounds.
