This article examines the concept of anthroponyms and their place within the onomastic system. Anthroponyms, as a category of proper names, constitute one of the most significant components of the lexical and onymic systems of language. The study explores the linguistic nature, semantic characteristics, and functional features of anthroponyms, emphasizing their role in personal identification, social differentiation, and cultural representation. Particular attention is paid to the historical development of anthroponymic studies, the relationship between anthroponyms and other categories of proper names, and their significance as fundamental elements of the onomastic system. The research also highlights the linguistic, cultural, and social information embedded in personal names, demonstrating their importance in preserving national identity and cultural heritage. The findings confirm that anthroponyms function not only as nominative units but also as complex linguistic and cultural signs that reflect the interaction between language, society, and culture.References
