SILENCE IN COMMUNICATION

This article sheds light on silence and its place in communication, presents the meanings that silence can convey, and represents examples of silence in written speech from nbovels. Silence is an integral part of communication and an integral element of speech and dialogue. Silence is an object of research in such areas of linguistics as paralinguistics and extralinguistics, which study nonverbal means.
