Abstract

Listening comprehension is one of the most challenging skills in foreign language acquisition, particularly for EFL students. Despite its importance, many learners demonstrate low motivation toward listening activities due to difficulties related to speech rate, pronunciation, limited vocabulary, and lack of interactive materials. This thesis explores the role of the Lingrade mobile application (available on Google Play Market) as a motivational tool to enhance students’ listening competence. The study examines the pedagogical potential of mobile-assisted language learning (MALL), the motivational mechanisms activated through digital platforms, and the impact of gamified listening tasks on learners’ engagement and performance. The findings suggest that integrating Lingrade into listening instruction increases students’ intrinsic motivation, autonomy, and overall listening achievement.
