Abstract

This article examines the role of authentic materials in enhancing reading comprehension among EFL learners. Authentic materials—such as newspapers, magazines, websites, brochures, and other real-life texts—provide meaningful, natural language exposure that promotes motivation and deeper understanding. The study discusses theoretical foundations, benefits, challenges, and effective strategies for integrating authentic resources into reading lessons. Findings indicate that authentic materials significantly support learners’ linguistic development, cultural awareness, and critical thinking skills, ultimately improving reading proficiency
