Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the structure and functioning of a three-stage distillation system, a widely used method for efficient separation of chemical mixtures in industrial processes. It explains the role of each stage, the flow of materials and energy, and the benefits of using multiple distillation columns operating under different pressure conditions. Emphasis is placed on energy integration, operational efficiency, and the variety of applications in which this system is used. The article is suitable for students, engineers, and professionals in chemical and process industries seeking a deeper understanding of multistage distillation systems.
