Mazkur maqolada “vatan” tushunchasining o‘zbek va nemis tillarida qanday ifodalanishi lingvistik va etimologik jihatdan tahlil qilinadi. O‘zbek tilidagi “vatan” so‘zining arab tilidan kirib kelishi, uning turli davrlarda qo‘llanilishiga e’tibor qaratilgan. Nemis tilidagi “Heimat” so‘zining kelib chiqishi va uning qadimgi nemis tillaridagi shakllari ham ko‘rib chiqilgan. Shuningdek, ushbu tushunchalarning madaniy va tarixiy kontekstdagi o‘rni ham muhokama qilinadi.
