THE IMPACT OF PHONICS ON LEARNERS' PRONUNCIATION ACCURACY

Phonics instruction is increasingly recognized as an effective approach for improving learners' pronunciation accuracy in English language education. By teaching the relationship between letters and sounds, phonics helps learners decode unfamiliar words and produce speech more accurately. This article examines the impact of phonics instruction on pronunciation accuracy among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. It discusses how phonics develops phonological awareness, improves reading fluency, strengthens listening comprehension, and enhances spoken communication. The article also explores practical classroom strategies for integrating phonics into pronunciation instruction. The findings suggest that systematic phonics instruction contributes significantly to learners' pronunciation accuracy, confidence, and overall communicative competence.
