Abstract

This paper explores the impact of reading fiction on vocabulary acquisition. It highlights how contextual richness, engaging narratives, and emotional connections enhance word retention and facilitate natural learning. Comparing fiction-based vocabulary growth with traditional memorization methods, the study emphasizes the long-term benefits of contextual learning. Key factors such as repeated exposure, emotional engagement, and implicit learning are analyzed. The findings suggest that regular reading of fiction not only increases word recognition but also improves active vocabulary use, making it an effective tool for language learning.
