THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL FOUNDATIONS OF TEACHING ENGLISH THROUGH THE STEAM EDUCATION APPROACH

This article examines the theoretical and practical foundations of teaching English through the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education approach. It explores how the integration of interdisciplinary learning enhances English language acquisition while simultaneously developing learners' critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. The study discusses innovative instructional strategies, project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, digital technologies, and authentic assessment methods within STEAM-oriented English language classrooms. Furthermore, it highlights the role of STEAM education in promoting learner autonomy, digital literacy, and twenty-first-century competencies. The findings indicate that integrating the STEAM approach into English language teaching significantly improves students' communicative competence, academic achievement, and readiness for global educational and professional environments.
