This article examines the use of phonological devices in English discourse, with particular emphasis on alliteration, onomatopoeia, and rhythm, and their impact on communicative effectiveness in both literary and spoken contexts. Within the framework of phonological stylistics, the study analyzes the functional significance of these devices, their semantic contribution, and their psychological influence on readers and listeners. Drawing on examples from literary texts, everyday spoken interaction, and media discourse, the paper explores the aesthetic and pragmatic functions of alliteration, onomatopoeia, and rhythm. The findings demonstrate that phonological devices play a crucial role in enhancing expressiveness, strengthening emotional impact, and facilitating effective communication in English discourse.
