This article examines the theoretical and functional foundations of emoji use in digital communication, focusing on key linguistic and communicative frameworks such as pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and multimodal discourse analysis. It analyzes the historical emergence of emojis, methodological approaches to their study, and their socio-cultural implications in online interaction. Findings highlight emojis as paralinguistic elements that bridge textual communication and emotional expression,enhancing clarity while introducing interpretative variability.
