Abstract

This study explores the usage of proverbs in English and Uzbek languages as reflections of cultural identity, worldview, and social norms. By examining their thematic scope, structural features, and figurative expressions, the analysis reveals how proverbs encapsulate communal experiences and moral lessons across generations. While both languages employ proverbs to guide behavior and express collective wisdom, their imagery, symbolic meanings, and rhetorical patterns differ significantly, shaped by historical development and cultural environment. The research highlights the universal and culture-specific aspects of proverbial traditions in both linguistic communities.
