Abstract

In recent years, the rapid expansion of digital technologies has significantly increased the importance of ensuring information security, particularly among students who represent one of the most active groups in the digital environment. This study examines the core principles of information security—integrity, confidentiality, and availability—while analyzing the growing risks associated with cyberattacks, data manipulation, and digital misinformation. Based on national and international practices, the research highlights Uzbekistan’s efforts in strengthening cybersecurity through legal frameworks, institutional reforms, and specialized state agencies. Special attention is given to the pedagogical modeling approach as an effective tool for developing students’ information security competencies. The study concludes that cultivating digital literacy, critical thinking, and responsible online behavior is essential for forming a secure and resilient information culture in the digital era.
