This study delves into the evolving role of punctuation in Uzbek and English, shedding light on how it shapes written discourse in both languages. By analyzing examples from contemporary fictional literature, we explore the syntactic, stylistic, and functional distinctions that emerge in punctuation usage. Our findings not only highlight the differences between these two linguistic systems but also underscore the broader implications of punctuation in enhancing clarity and expression in modern writing. Ultimately, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how punctuation conventions continue to develop in response to linguistic and stylistic needs.
