Abstract

This article explores gender roles as reflected in English and Russian proverbs, emphasizing how these cultural artifacts reveal societal attitudes towards gender. By analyzing contemporary proverbs and their usage, the study aims to illustrate how gender stereotypes are perpetuated or challenged within both cultures. The findings indicate that while certain proverbs reinforce traditional gender norms, others reflect evolving perspectives on gender equality. This analysis contributes to the broader discourse on gender studies and cultural communication in the 21st century.
