Abstract

Polyhedra are fundamental three-dimensional geometric figures bounded by polygonal faces. The study of their surface area and volume occupies a central position in solid geometry and has extensive applications in mathematics, engineering, architecture, computer graphics, and industrial design. Accurate determination of these geometric characteristics is essential for solving practical problems related to material consumption, structural stability, and spatial optimization. This article examines the mathematical foundations of polyhedra, methods for calculating surface area and volume, classifications of polyhedra, and their practical applications in various scientific and technological fields. Particular attention is given to regular and irregular polyhedra, as well as the significance of geometric modeling in modern engineering practices.
