This article examines the role and advantages of using authentic materials in English language teaching (ELT). Authentic materials refer to texts and resources originally created for native speakers rather than for instructional purposes. The study highlights how such materials enhance learners’ motivation, communicative competence, cultural awareness, and exposure to real-life language use. Additionally, the article discusses practical ways of integrating authentic materials into classroom instruction and addresses potential challenges related to learners’ proficiency levels. The findings suggest that authentic materials contribute significantly to meaningful language learning when appropriately selected and pedagogically adapted.
