“FORMING PASSIVE VOICE”
Keywords:
Passive voice Active voice Subject Object Verb (to be) (am, is, are, was, were) Past participle (V3) By-agent (by someone) Tense (Present, Past, Future) Auxiliary verbs Transformation Sentence structure.Abstract
In English grammar, there are two main voices: active and passive. In the active voice, the subject of the sentence performs the action of the verb (e.g., The chef cooks the meal). In the passive voice, the subject of the sentence receives the action of the verb (e.g., The meal is cooked by the chef). The passive voice is commonly used in both spoken and written English when the person or thing performing the action is either unknown, unimportant, or obvious from the context. It allows us to focus more on the action itself or the recipient of the action rather than the doer.
