Assessment plays an important role in English language teaching. Assessment not only determines the level of knowledge of students, but also helps to improve their learning process. Formative assessment is a method of assessment that is carried out continuously during the learning process, which allows to determine the level of learning of students and allows teachers to adjust the learning process. This article examines the methods and benefits of effective use of formative assessment in English language teaching.
