Abstract

Listening comprehension is a fundamental skill in language acquisition, facilitating communication and understanding across linguistic boundaries. However, mastering this skill can be challenging due to the complex cognitive processes involved, including decoding, interpretation, and retention of spoken language. This article examines effective techniques for enhancing listening comprehension, focusing on active listening strategies, cognitive and metacognitive approaches, and the integration of technology in language learning. Through a review of recent studies, this research identifies best practices and presents practical methodologies for improving listening skills in both first and second language contexts. This analysis is intended to serve as a resource for language learners, educators, and researchers, emphasizing the importance of structured, learner-centered approaches to optimize listening comprehension
