CLASSROOM DISCUSSION: AN ACTIVITY TO PROMOTE SPEAKING IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

This article discusses the advantages of the methods used during the lesson . In today's information technology era, everyone wants to learn English for the purpose of communication. Nowadays, English is widely used for various purposes such as academic business diplomacy. In this increasingly globalized world, English is for students and job seekers proves that it has become a basic requirement. To meet international needs, students need to know English well, especially oral communication skills. Communication skills allow students to it is very necessary to prepare for future academic career and future job. In addition, classroom discussion is one of the activities carried out by the teacher in teaching and learning. In this activity, students express their opinions in class. Thus, students have the opportunity to know English well. It is also English language. It provides valuable experience to prepare themselves to use English in the multifaceted society where communication is a demanding tool in our lives today.
