Abstract

This study examines the methodology of teaching chess openings to beginner training groups from a pedagogical and cognitive perspective. The relevance of the research is обусловлена the widespread use of memorization-based approaches in early chess instruction, which often contradict the psychological and cognitive readiness of novice players. The aim of the study is to substantiate an effective, principle-based methodology for opening instruction at the initial stage of chess training. The research is based on theoretical analysis of scientific literature in chess pedagogy, cognitive psychology, and sports education, as well as pedagogical observation and generalization of best coaching practices.
