Abstract

The main uniqueness of English phrases and proverbs is manifested in the lightening of their folk culture, historical experience and attitude to life. These elements are one of the integral parts of folk oral creativity, through which the values, ideology and traditions that exist in society are transmitted from generation to generation. Phrases and proverbs in English are short in most cases, but at the same time rich in content and multifaceted. They reflect deep reflections and experiences about life in their own way. Such examples in English testify to the many qualities and values that the English people have historically formed, just as the phrases and proverbs of each people embody their own unique worldview and culture, their attitude to social life.
